ILMA/Illinois EPA Scholarship Program

ILMA and the Illinois EPA have sponsored a scholarship program since 2000. College juniors, seniors and graduate students who are Illinois residents and attending an accredited college or university in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana or Ohio are eligible. The students must be enrolled in an academic program related to lake and/or watershed management. A scholarship review committee evaluates applications annually, according to pre-established criteria.

This year, the scholarship review committee voted to award $1,000 scholarships to each of two students. In addition, $500 scholarships were awarded to two other students, based on the high quality of the reviewed applications. The committee’s decisions will be announced during the Friday luncheon, and awardees have been invited to attend the Conference to receive their scholarship/grant.

Please join us in congratulating these students on their awards for exemplary work in lake-related issues.

Stop the Spread of ANS-- Bait Bucket Stickers

Preprinted stickers for bags and minnow buckets are now available for retail outlets distributing live bait. They carry a message to anglers that discourages release of unwanted bait into the wild. This is part of a larger effort to help the baitfish industry learn how to identify ANS, understand new ANS-related baitfish regulations; and learn how to comply with state regulations. DOWNLOAD
